JonHerting Jon Herting, DPT, CSCS, HFS

Jon graduated from Ursinus College with a degree in Exercise and Sports Science and a minor in Wellness and Fitness Education. While at Ursinus he was a four year starter on the soccer team and team captain. He continued on to Widener University where he graduated with his Doctor of Physical Therapy. While at Widener Jon lectured nationally at he APTA Combined Sections Meeting on the topic of Student Run Pro Bono PT Clinics (2011, 2012). He received the Otho Davis Scholarship in 2011 which is given to a student majoring in a sports medicine field recognizing their service to the community. He currently serves as an adjunct faculty member at Widener University.

Jon coached both youth and high school soccer and worked as a personal trainer and strength coach in both the corporate and private sectors prior to beginning PT school. During this time he earned several certifications including Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and Health Fitness Specialist (HFS) through American College of Sports Medicine, as well as certifications from the following organizations; United States Weightlifting as a Sports Performance Coach, International Kettlebell and Fitness Federation, Certified Kettlebell Teacher (CKT 1), and a Kettlebell Athletics Coach Level 1. He is also certified in the Functional Movement Screen and as a Level 2 Youth Conditioning Specialist through the International Youth Conditioning Association. Because of a past history of ACL reconstruction himself he also became certified as a Sportsmetrics ACL Injury Prevention Certified Instructor. He has taken course in Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS), Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), Postural Restoration Institute (PRI) and Graston Technique.

mandyMandy Huggard, DPT, ATC, CSCS

Mandy graduated with honors in 1994 from University of Florida with a Bachelor of Health Science degree in Rehabilitation. She continued on to University of Miami where, in 1996, she completed a Master’s of Science degree in Physical Therapy. She has completed her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Temple University.

While At University of Miami she interned with the nationally ranked Hurricane Football Program assisting in athletic coverage and rehabilitation for the athletes. Upon leaving University of Miami, Mandy worked with the world renowned orthopaedic surgeon James Andrews and physical therapist, Kevin Wilk in Birmingham, Alabama. As both a licensed physical therapist and athletic trainer, Mandy has treated patients from many professional organizations including the NBA, NFL, NFLEL, MLB, PGA, WTA, and WWF.

Mandy has lectured nationally on the topics of shoulder, knee, and elbow rehabilitation as well as, co-authored a chapter entitled Rehabilitation Concerns of the Upper Extremity in Dr. Mary Lloyd Ireland’s book, The Female Athlete. Mandy specializes in the treatment of shoulder injuries including the overhead athlete along with prevention and rehabilitation of ACL injuries.

Shaun Shaun Logan, DPT

Shaun Logan, PT, DPT graduated with distinction from Drexel University with his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2010. Prior to starting Drexel’s physical therapy program, he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology: Movement Science from Penn State University in 2007. While at Penn State, Shaun decided to pursue a career in physical therapy due to his life long passion for sports.

Growing up, Shaun played travel team soccer, baseball, basketball, and wrestling. Shaun attended Washington Township High School, where he played football and lacrosse. Shaun was a captain of the inaugural men’s lacrosse team at Washington Township in 2003. Shaun has returned to WTHS as a volunteer assistant lacrosse coach for the varsity boy’s team in 2008 and 2011.

Shaun enjoys providing treatment and education for athletes and patients of all ages and levels of ability, from children to professionals. He strives to not only return athletes to their previous level of competition, but to improve upon their previous level with a better understanding of their own body. Shaun also has interests in concussion rehabilitation and looks to continue to grow the program at the Training Room.

As Shaun’s career progresses, he is working towards obtaining a Specialist Certification in Sports. Shaun has a strong interest in teaching and research within the field of physical therapy. He has also returned to Drexel University as an assistant in teaching orthopedics and plans to continue with this more in the future.

Dr. Erson Religioso III, DPT, MS, MTC, CertMDT, CFC,
CSCS, FMS, FMT, FAAOMPT, graduated from D’Youville College in 1998 with a dual Bachelor’s of Science and Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy. His interests in Orthopaedics and Manual Therapy lead him to pursue a Doctor of Physical
Therapy degree from the University of St. Augustine. Studying under StanleyParis, Ph.D, PT, internationally known for his manual skills and knowledge of the spine as well as his distinguished faculty, Dr.Religioso earned his DPT and Manual Therapy Certification in 2000. He later became credentialed in Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment of the Spine in 2000, and in 2008 became one of four mentors in the country who can train orthopaedic manual therapy to MDT Diplomats, of which there are only several hundred in the world.

Thanks to extensive training and certification from Dr. Mariano Rocabado, PT, of Chile, one of the world’s foremost experts in treatment of temporomandibular joint dysfunction, Dr. Religioso became certified in evaluation and treatment of oromaxillary, craniofacial, and temporomandibular pain in 2005. Later in 2005, he obtained Fellow status in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists and serves as a mentor for future Fellows through Daemen College’s Fellowship in OMPT program. He recently became certified in FMS level 1 in December 2011 and expects certification in level 1 of the Selective Functional Movement Assessment soon. In January 2013, Dr. Religioso became an official FMT
level 2 certified RocDoc, a start of the art method of kinesiotaping.

Dr. Religioso is adjunct faculty of D’Youville College, Daemen College, and SUNY at Buffalo, where he teaches orthopaedic manual physical therapy in the DPT programs. He founded themanualtherapist.com to help mentor and teach professionals around the world and physioanswers.com to help educate consumers and the general public on the profession of physical/physiotherapy. He also is the creator of the EDGE Tool, a high quality stainless steel tool for assisted soft tissue manipulation, the EDGE Mobility Bands, for enhancing mobility from head to foot, and the Stop Thought Viruses Challenge, for individuals in chronic/persistent pain states.

Rudolf_Zak_DPMDr. Rudolf Zak, D.P.M

Dr. Zak was born in Kiev, Ukraine and came to the United States in 1977. He grew up in Brooklyn, NY where he attended Midwood High School. He graduated with a B.S. in Athletic Training from Northeastern University in 1998. Dr. Zak earned his Medical degree from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine and completed his residency training at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, NJ. He has been in private practice for 7 years in Marlton, NJ.

Dr. Zak enjoys participating in triathlons, skiing and golfing. He currently resides in Voorhees, NJ with his wife and three children. Dr. Zak is excited to join Mercer-Bucks Orthopaedics and will be seeing patients in all of our locations.

 

Dr. Eric Nelson, D.C., DACBSP

Dr. Nelson is a sports chiropractor. He graduated Cum Laude from Life College of Chiropractic in Marietta, Georgia and has furthered his education as a Level One Board Certified Chiropractic Rehabilitation Doctor and a Board Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician. Dr. Nelson specializes in the treatment and correction of soft tissue injuries and is a credentialed Active Release Technique provider® and NKT instructor. Dr. Nelson is the former team chiropractor/trainer for the Camden Catholic High School Football team.

Dr. Nelson is also a Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner and certified Graston Technique Practitioner. He is also certified in the Functional Movement Screen (FMS) and Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA). Dr. Eric is a member of the Active Release Technique Elite Provider network. In August 2009, he was selected for a 2 week chiropractic rotation at the US Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, California. Dr. Eric worked with Archery, Track & Field, BMX, Kayaking, Field Hockey, and Bobsledding Olympic athletes.

Dr. Nelson is the past president of the Association of NJ Chiropractors Sports Council and a Polestar certified Pilates instructor. He was awarded the 2010 ANJC Sports Council Sports Chiropractor of the Year and provides medical coverage for many sporting events throughout the year. Dr. Eric Nelson is a member of the Mountain Dew Action Sports Medical Team. The Dew Tour is a nationally televised event which consists of skateboarding, BMX, and freestyle motocross competitions.

Dr. Seth Oberst, DPT, CSCS

Dr. Seth Oberst, DPT, CSCS is a residency-trained physical therapist and strength & conditioning coach with a holistic, evidence-based approach to human movement patterns and their impact on physical and sports performance. Dr. Oberst received his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Ohio University and has undergone extensive training through an APTA-credentialed Sports Residency. He has presented on motor control topics at several national conferences for clinician scientists and is the recipient of numerous awards for his research and academic achievements relating to motor control and muscle fatigue.

Currently practicing in South Carolina, Seth focuses on performance-based sports medicine with an emphasis on returning athletes to  elite-level sport and performance with a movement-based treatment approach combining manual therapy and progressive strength and conditioning techniques. His clients have included collegiate and professional athletes in both team and individual sports as well as competitive age-division athletes in multiple sports. He has also worked as an Injury Prevention and Performance Consultant for several high school sports teams.
